Crystal DiagnosticsTM is creating innovative products for the rapid detection of microbes and pathogens in fluids. Located in Colorado and Ohio, Crystal Diagnostics was born with the idea to take advantage of the unique properties of liquid crystals to detect pathogenic substances. Co-invented by researchers at the Liquid Crystal Institute at Kent State University and Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine (NEOUCOM); this technology allowed exploring the potential of an intersection between liquid crystal technology and biological applications. Our company is translating this technology to a platform product (Crystal DxTM) to measure a wide range of microbes.
